Preperation: The Backbone of Content Creation
Chapter 12 gives us brief introductions to more broader content outlets that aren't specific to a certain app or website, such as podcasts, blogs, and webinars. While the chapter was mostly the pros and cons of each outlet and tips to succeed with them, something I took away was the preparation aspect of creating content like this. When I think about podcasts or blogs I only look at the finished product, and not the process that it resulted from. The more and more I read and thought about it, the more I began realizing the amount of effort and work it takes to make a successful podcast, blog, etc. All the things that seem so obvious like thinking of a topic or focus, making the content digestible to the audience, and even making attention grabbing titles are all things I think we take for granted.

Hey, Robin. You made a very good point that I have also thought about. When listening to a podcast we simply listen to the episode from beginning to end without really taking into account how challenging it must've been for the creator in terms of information and editing. I think about this most after watching a really good movie.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin! Your realization of the amount of time it takes to create blogs and podcasts is great. Throughout the past couple of weeks, I have realized it takes much more time to prepare my blog posts than I anticipated. I have to make sure I am posting on different days, writing engaging content, including pictures, and making sure I am following AP style guidelines. I look forward to reading your blog posts in weeks to come!
ReplyDeleteHey, Robin! As some one who works on the production side of things like vlogs, podcast, etc. I appreciate your under standing of the time and effort it takes to provide good quality content to our audiences. Overall, great prospective. Can't wait to read more of your work.
