Upcoming Podcast!
Some exciting news involving future blog posts! A new podcast is currently in the works and will be debuting next Friday March 3rd. The premise of the podcast is the analysis of children's books to find a much deeper meaning and themes where there might not be any. Conspiracy theories, regular theories, completely made up theories, who knows what will come out of these iconic children's books! While the concept is already being perfected and fine tuned, the podcast still does not have a name. If you have any clever names or just names you think sound catchy please comment them on this post. This podcast will only be as good as its name (or at least I think so), so please suggest a name! It will hosted on Spotify so I will post any updates as soon as I have any info available, so please stay tuned!
Instagram Reels are the real deal!
Short-form media is an ever-present feature in most if not all relevant social media platforms. With its humble beginnings on Snapchat, it has evolved over the years creating some of the most impactful social media content/platforms such as Vine, Musically, and TikTok. With the success of TikTok, other platforms simply had to have their own flow of short-term content to keep up.
What makes this specific type of content so effective? For one it is easier to consume. Many people simply want to get the info they clicked on the video for, instead of having to sit through the whole video just to find the one piece of info they needed. This small-burst-of-info format makes information more accessible to people when they don't have the time to do a deep dive on whatever they are wanting to learn about.
Short-form content is also as easy to make as it is easy to consume. Anyone could make a 15-20 second video advertising their group, company, organization, band, anything. Their success could vary depending on the production quality of the video, as well as its use of relevant trends and tags. Of course things like these all depend on the social climate and what is popular during the production of the video, so there are many outside factors that will affect the success of any one video.
Finally, not only is this sort of content easy to make and easy to consume, it is also unbelievably easy to share. This one fact alone might be what draws companies and organizations towards it. All social media platforms have some sort of share mechanism built in, so sharing this content isn't any different from sharing anything else. Combining ease of creation, ease of consumption, and ease distribution can make for a very effective marketing strategy when done properly.

What goes into having a successful media presence?
The managing of your own social media marketing and presence goes hand in hand with content creation, you can't really have one or the other. You can't have a successful social media presence if you have no content to share, and you can't have successful content if you don't an audience if there was never an audience brought in. Managing can sound scary to do, but in reality it's almost like following a list of things you need to have in mind to keep yourself organized. Usually you would want to have established goals if you are serious about improving and solidifying your media presence, but making goals along the way is still valid. After deciding what your goals are, the next step would be to decide what your tone will be, as that could affect what kind of person interacts with your brand. Appealing to a much more professional and serious could be your desired outcome, but if you want attract as many people as possible you would have to figure out a way to attract both a casual and professional audience without leaning too much into one side in case you drive the other one away. Having a consistent flow of content as well as an established place to upload said content is also crucial, as the audience has to have easy access to the brand, if not then it will make them less likely to seek out your brand.
There are more intricate steps into actually managing social media marketing, but if you are just starting to set it up having a "roadmap to success", as well as studying and looking at other people or other brands who have succeeded and seeing what they did. Also another huge part of managing social media presence is actually using the using the social media appropriately. If your name is tied to your brand, then you have to be very careful with what you say, unless you want to risk alienating or offending a portion of your audience. If your brand's social media is separate, then you have to make sure what that account that represents your brand is run by someone who is knowledgeable in not only the brand, but also in social media etiquette. Planning is the key word, and it can be the difference between a failed brand and a successful one.
